Introducing our high-performance coil kit for the 500 Abarth!
For an OEM Abarth 500 coil the nominal voltage is typically 25–35 kV.
Our test shows:
- 29 kV at 1.5 ms
- Up to 41 kV at 4.5 ms (long charge time)
These values are very good and compatible with sports or oversized coils.
Primary current (5–14 A)
The normal range for modern coils is 6–12 A, with higher peaks as the dwell (charge time) increases.
In the test:
- 5 A → short time
- 14 A → long time
Perfectly realistic values. Above 14–15 A you risk stressing the control unit, but the test is bench-tested.
Secondary discharge time (0.8–1.55 ms)
A good coil should have a discharge >0.8 ms.
Optimal performance is between 1.0 and 1.5 ms.
Our values (0.8–1.55 ms) are good and indicate a stable and long-lasting arc.
Secondary current (60–150 mA)
Typical values: 50–120 mA.
The test reaches 150 mA, very good for high-performance coils.
Output energy (24–116 mJ)
Here you can see the quality of the coil.
- Stock coils produce about 30–60 mJ.
- Sports coils reach 80–120 mJ.
Your test shows:
- Minimum: 24 mJ (short time)
- Maximum: 116 mJ (4.5 ms)
Excellent values, compatible with reinforced coils / performance.
Conclusion
The test values are very good and indicate:
- high voltage
- good discharge duration
- high energy
- excellent response to increased dwell time
In practice they are high-performance coils that are superior to stock coils.
